A young family wished for a much needed large open plan kitchen – dining – family area where they could spend time together baking, playing or just relaxing in each other’s company.

The single-storey rear and side extension on a fairly tight site in South Warrington was quite limiting but a very careful space planning and some large pieces of steel made it all happen. Not only did it provide the desired large family space, but it also managed to accommodate a separate utility room and a downstairs WC. Five metres long bi-folding doors now also connect and integrate the garden space into the internal living area.
